The memory-chip rally added more to the S&P 500 today than Nvidia did

Eight memory and storage chipmakers added a combined 0.23 index points to the S&P 500 on September 4, more than Nvidia's 0.07, as SanDisk jumped 11.9% on a DRAM and NAND price surge. The index still closed down 0.34%.

The S&P 500 closed down 0.16% on Friday. Take Nvidia out and it closed up 0.20%. Every one of thirteen AI-hardware names fell that day, and all six of the largest non-AI companies rose.
